Reply to or forward a posted message

You can reply to or forward messages posted to a public folder only when using Microsoft Office Outlook Web Access through a "front-end" Microsoft Exchange server. A front-end server is a computer that provides a single point of access to Web services such as Outlook Web Access. For example, if you use Outlook Web Access to check your corporate e-mail account from home, you are likely accessing your account through a front-end server.

To reply to the sender of a posted message

  1. On the toolbar, click Reply Button image. When you click Reply, the To text box is already addressed to the sender.
  2. The text of the original message is copied into the message body. If you want to add comments to the message before you send it, type your comments within or above the original message.
  3. Click Send.

To forward a posted message to someone

  1. Open the posted message.
  2. On the toolbar, click Forward Button image.
  3. In the To or Cc text boxes, type the e-mail addresses of the people you want to forward the posted message to, or click To or Cc to open the Find Names dialog box.

Tip  The Find Names dialog box allows you to search your organization's global address list for a recipient. After you locate the person, you can add his or her name directly to the forwarded message.

  4. The text of the original message is copied into the message body. If you want to add comments to the message before you send it, type your comments within or above the original message.
  5. Click Send.
